The Wasteland Gaming at a Glance

History

13 years into the business, The Wasteland Gaming is a sizable WPN Premium store, drawing players from all over the Atlanta metro. It's owned by KJ, Josh, and James - three owners with decades of collective experience in the gaming industry. Due to its massive space, it can host upwards of over 150 people, simultaneously playing a variety of games. This includes, but is not limited to Magic, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Star Wars, Lorcana, and One Piece.

With SCG CON Atlanta $1Ks for both Legacy & Premodern happening that weekend, 20 players gathered to play the freshly-announced Legacy bi-weekly event. A few Premodern players also jammed some practice games nearby. Jordan Mellor won the random door prize, a Promo Foil Urza's Saga Duress, and Matt Cook went a perfect 4-0 on the night, grabbing the coveted Foil Bug hat. The Legacy scene in Atlanta is growing quickly with a strong, competitive, and friendly player base.

At The Wasteland Gaming, the formats played include Legacy, Premodern, Modern, Standard, and Commander.

Inventory

The Wasteland Gaming has an online store featuring an extensive selection of singles and accessories for all games it supports. KJ graciously gave a walking tour of their operations behind closed doors. Their team fills out hundreds of TCG/online orders on a weekly basis and any excess inventory is quickly bought by the local player base.

Food Options

Apparently, the northeast suburb of Duluth contains a diverse set of restaurants. The local players had a few great suggestions for food nearby, including: Hiro Tea Bar, El Terero Mexican Restaurant, Ramen at Okiburo Duluth, SluttyVegan, Bezoria, and New Super Pho.

Transportation

Getting around Atlanta will require having either a rental car or taking an Uber/Lyft. The Wasteland Gaming is located outside of the perimeter, so public transportation via MARTA or even taking the bus could take over 2 hours. Consider joining the Atlanta Legacy Discord server to reach out to locals for meet up opportunities or even carpooling to and from the store.
